quick ? on a 54cj2b

found one today, might buy it for a trail (river) only heep...I mean jeep . It is all original with the high head. I was told that the diffs are factory and that the rear is a 1/4 turn or posi, and the front is a manual lock out. But the seller said that when you lock the front hubs in, it is a locked diff...that sound right, or are they more likly open diff. also anything I need to look at before dropping $1500.

I don't think those came with anything but open differentials, but could be wrong. Look for rust and fatigue cracks. Those are pretty simple pieces of equipment, so there's not much that can be hidden.

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

Open diffs were stock.
And I don't think there was a production CJ-2B. The High hood was the CJ-3B. I'd love to have one. Good Luck with your purchase.
