O/T What the ….

What gives? Trying to buy fireplace logs. I could KINDA understand Kmart saying they were seasonal. I asked about them in front of the manager. I said yeah, but this is the season. We have patio fireplaces, I even bought mine at that Kmart. He said I had a good point and would email a suggestion that they carry them in the summer.

Went to Lowe’s and Ace Hardware, both had patio fireplaces but no logs.

Pine Mountain even makes a smaller log for patio fireplaces.

I know people use them camping. I live close to a Cabela's, they don’t list them online anyway.

I guess I’ll look for a yuppie camping supply store or a source for sawdust, I know where to get paraffin wax.

Wonder if it has occurred to anyone that the droop in consumer spending may just be because they ain’t sellin’ what we wanna buy.

I have the same kind of issue, not with fireplace logs but with the big chain stores in general. They seem to have no imagination at all in what they stock. Which is why I try to do all my business with smaller stores, they may only have 10% of the stuff but it tends to be stuff I actually want.

I will start using Metric only when the duodecimal system is adopted!!

Found ‘em at Riverside Red X in the grocery department. I bought 10 of the smaller ones.

For history, yes that is the Riverside, MO referenced in the movie The Sting, and Red X sat next to the track It become an auto racetrack a few years after Red X opened as a gas station.

Stopped at another grocery store on the way home and they had them too.
