Nope, 8 cylinder distributors have a large honkin' hole in them directly to the advance/trigger plate!

That's why I use air pressure to keep the distributor dry!

Using the taller cap will raise the high voltage part up out of harm's way with both distributors,
So I do the large cap on everything just for that reason alone!

Once the large cap and good plug wires are installed and sealed up some,
90% of the 'WET' ignition problems turn out to be the COIL getting muddy and wet!
