sm420 mated to bronco dana 20 - Possible?

I have been searching forums and tech sites for an answer but none as of yet. I am replacing my YJ drive train, but before I start purchasing components I need to know what will fit. I would like to use either a sm420/465 transmission and mate it to an early bronco dana 20 since it has the driver side front out put I need. But further reading on Novak Adapters, says,
"The internals are largely the same as for the Jeep, IH and Chevy versions, but the front mounting pattern is quite different and not compatible with the other popular Dana 20 adapters and transmissions.". Does any one make an adapter that this will fit. You response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Mike

I would think a Ford NV435 could be found mated to the Ford D20 from the factory, or you can come up with the parts yourself or through Novak. The NV435 is very comparible to the SM465/420. Unless of course you're wanting to run Chevy power, then you may have to adapt both ends.

Is this the only hammer you've got?

I've seen a few NP435 / D20 combo's and they appear shorter than the T18 / D20's which use a long adapter. Check Novak's websight http://http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np435.htm, as I know the NP435 can be adapted to chevy bellhousings fairly cheaply if that's your issue.

It didn't work last time either.
