O/T Got some rain !!!!!

Well they haven't said for sure on how much we got, 5-9 inches is what they are saying.. Here are a couple of pics of the road I live on.

If you look toward the lower right by the tree's you can see a car. Yes the stupid lady made out ok thanks to my dad and another neighbor...

This is the main highway that runs through town.

This was the second time Ive saw the river get this high since 94 and that only happened because they couldn't get all the gates open fast enough over in Disney Ok. The last time before that was in 1957 and from what I hear, it was worse than this....

Was it one of those "It doesn't look deep" decisions, or "I will be ok" determinations?

That sucks, your house ok?

My house is fine, we live on high ground. As for that lady, Im not sure what she was thinking. We had two big signs say water over road turn around. I would say it was about 4ft. over the road. On that section of the road, you are right on the edge of the river, about a 20ft, drop down to the river on a normal day.
Here is a pic of my friends house, Notice the sign on the fence...
[/IMG]
Here is another of my father inlaws friend directly across the private drive. This one is right on the river, his basement had six foot of water in it...
[/IMG]
These pics were after the water had dropped about a foot or little more!!
Last one here!

Wow... floods suck. They're nasty when they happen, and almost as bad as when the water recedes. My sympathies are with your community.
