Newbie Questions

Love the site, Just joined the forums.
I'm working on my first Jeep build used to build BBC trucks for straight line speed now I have dirt in my veins.

Got a few questions
THe YJ I'm building is an '88.
I'm planning on installing a 3.9 Cummins turbo diesel. The engine has a chevy automatic adapter installed on it so I'm going to use a 700R4 for the transmission. When I bought the used transmission it had a NP208 attached, the problem is the transfer case is a passenger side drop and it has a long tail shaft.

Question 1 - Can a NP208 be rolled over to a drivers side drop?
Question 2 - does anyone make a short output shaft with a SYE for a NP208

Instead of the 208, a D300 with a 27 spline input gear would work. Check JP Conversions for a good input gear.
