Wide Track or Narrow Track on my CJ?

I am in the process of buying some stainless steel brake lines and I found there were differences in my CJ year ('81). I need to figure out if I have a wide track or narrow track.

Measuring on the rear axle - anyone know where should I measure from/to?

Thanks!

-John

i think they were narrow track until the 82 model year.....so you should be narrow.

i dont have measurements handy...but if you post a pic, its pretty easy to tell.

Thanks Greg. Here is a link to some pics I took for checking how rusted out my frame was/is.

These pics are looking back at the rear diff from the mid-section of the jeep.

Can you tell from these pics?

It's real easy...

I walked out in my driveway with a tape measure...and measured one of the 4 narrow track D44's I've got...

A bad weekend of wheelin', is still a good weekend.

shouldn't it have a D30 front and a AMC20 rear?

narrow trac is 53" wms-wms front and 50.5" wms-wms rear
wide trac is 56" front and 54.5" rear

Ok - I got under the Jeep tonight and took a few shots of the front/rear diff.

Here are the photos. I also took a few of the transmission (4 speed+reverse).

Can anyone tell me the diff types? and the transmission type?
