Temp Gauge Dance

I can't get my temp gauge working. I installed a new fuel and temp gauge along with a temp sensor in the block and still no joy. When I have the jeep running, I put the screw driver light thing with the in the connector that goes to the block and I get a light so I'm lost as to what else I need to trouble shoot. Just a side note, I can't seem to get my instruments lights to work ether. Not sure if both are related.

HELP!!!!

Guess what....related.

My first guess would be instrument panel ground. Take a piece of wire and connect it between a bare spot on the dash and a good solid ground point on the jeep. If the lights come on...guess what....ground.

Any place on the panel should do it, but try right to the body of the gauge, and then to a known good ground.

You going to be safe from the fires?

I'll try that. So far I'm safe. I just woke up to see my neighborhood that I grew up is about to be on fire. I live in the northern county of San Diego so as of now we are safe. We do have have fires burning on both sides of us.

An evacuation area came to just across the freeway from my brother's house in Encinitas, and that's not far from you, so I was concerned.

I'm not that far from him. The closer you are to the coast the better. I think your brother and I should be ok. I have a fire that is approaching from the north east that has me a little tight. The news isn't saying much about it.
