Talking Wheelin' Thursday

I took a day off from work , so the day was partly a meeting for a volunteer project, but despite the cool & wind I took the Jeep out for some afternoon excersize . The temp in town mid 50s, so hoping for no lower than mid 40s since it isn't a lot of altitude gain. Ooops, missed that weather forecast.

I also wanted to try out using the photo gallery here for these photos.

What altitude is that?

I started at about 5100 feet and got up to about 8600. The photos were probably around 8400 to 8500 feet altitude.

That's really nice! The Boss and I are starting to look at motorhomes, and will probably have one by spring. Our first long trip is going to be heading west with the Jeep on a trailer, and the first stop in Colorado.

Now it's Wheelin' Saturday. The weather was supposed to be changing drastically so I didn't know how far up I could go. I started out at about 73 in town, and got up to 10,000 with mostly cloudy and probably still in the upper 50s. Compare that to Thursday and the forecast for Sunday in town for a high of maybe 40 with some snow. Way up there was an occasional snow flake in the air, but not enough to obscure this view (click for larger).

You can drive to the top of that mountain, but I wouldn't recommend a motorhome for that drive.
