Fuel and temp gauge Install question

I just received my new temp and fuel gauges and I'm not clear on the install with the small red jumper cable the goes in between both gauges? I can look at what I have installed now but I'm not sure it's right nor am I sure the wires on both gauges are on the right posts? Dose these questions make any sense?

p.s. The cool site the Leve posted on another post won't work for me. That sucks because I know that like had some good pictures of the spedo set up.

Once again Leve you save the day. I think the links are going to work. I'm printing now and I'm going to start trying to get the old gauges out. Wish me luck with those clips.

** new / old fuel gauge only has two posts so I'm assuming that the jumper goes to the red / hot post on the fuel gauge??

Update....

I had the new fuel gauge working for a bit but the temp gauge never moved. Now when I moved the temp gauge it would ground out and shoot to the right (high temp). It did this while moving the gauge not the wire. Long story short, now the fuel gauge isn't working. I'll pull it all apart on Thursday and try again. Any ideas as to why a new temp gauge is acting the way that it dose?
