Exclamation 2008 Badlands Bash Sponsorship Offer

I want to throw something out there and see what comes back. As most of you are aware, I am now Events & Promotions Coordinator for Hi-Lift Jack Company. I was just discussing with our sales manager the prospect of sponsoring the Bash. I don't know yet what would be involved, but two things that would have to be included would be (1) a dinner provided by Hi-Lift on either Friday or Saturday evening; and (2) assuming some of the costs of the event, such as a tent, help on camping costs, working with the Badlands for an event pass at a reduced price, special pricing on Hi-Lift products, etc. Details can be worked out later. Is there interest? Something like this would not be restricted to board members, but I would expect us to serve as a host club to help with trail leaders, etc. Let me know if the interest is there.

i have interest...and think that Saturday would be best for any planned activities since some people only show up saturday morning.

assuming my stock-sized willys is dependable by then i'd be happy to serve as a stock/easy-trail leader.

Was someone riding in my truck yesterday? I was thinking to myself if i should go again or not. I wasnt planning on it before this years bash (i wanted to go somewhere else). Then i broke an axle, so that had me wanting revenge. Now this. Tom if you do this, you may hear from my wife.

Is it May yet?

Tom, that's awesome! I think it would be great, although I do have one minor reservation; If it turns into a big event I'm afraid that we might lose the feeling of it being a bunch of old friends getting together. But I'm not too worried about that happening. And if it does go that way, we'll just start a Non-Bash Weekend. Carry on!

But I don'

Hate to tell you this Jim, but it wouldn't be the first time.

Haven't you noticed the sharp sarcasm and thin hair your daughter has?

Tom, that sounds like a great idea. Getting someone to coordinate things is a PITA every year, so you might as well do it and get paid for it.

GREAT IDEA!!! My concern would be the same as Jim_Lou's. The saturday night dinner where everyone brings a dish is a favorite of mine. Sounds like a great evolution that started out as a small group of friends, anything Hi-Lift would like to do is great! Thanks for the enthusiasm, and thank the big wig's at Hi-Lift.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see. I don't share the same concern as Jim, If it turns into 500 people I will still haveg with the same groups I always do. Admitdly this type of set up was what I was working towards when It was my responsability. I say do it and if I can help in any way I have a bit more time on my hands now than I used to.

Ya only go around once, best to enjoy it the first trip.

Don't change a thing... it's perfect just the way it was...except it needs more root-beer!
