Jeep Truck With Step Side Bed?

Yesterday while we were exploring some new acreage with a farm 'boneyard' on it, we found a jeep pickup with gladiator grill and step side bed...
The owner said we could pick the truck clean, but I have never seen a step side on a jeep truck before...

Anyone got pictures or details?
When did jeep stop using the gladiator grill?

Did it look like this? That was a "Thriftside" pickup... 1963

I got a Pict of an Orange Honcho stepside at a Car show last year. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I could be wrong but I have heard that bed is the same one used on the older style Jeep pickups.

I sure wish the sheet metal was in better shape, I'd make this thing a driver!

Yesterday was way out in the sticks (Steep Rock, Mb.) and saw a 49 Willys truck for sale. Not bad shape. The grill is like an old CJ, but has doors and a stepside box. Looks a lot like the picture above.

Anyone know of someplace that carries body panels for the early trucks?

I found front fenders at BJ's, but the rest of it I'm at a loss for...
