O/T Road trip next week!!!

Well it's kind of a confusing story so I won't try to exlain... Next week Im taking a road trip, all paid for just have to be the driver. Anyway Im heading to Colorado Springs heading up through Kansas to Selena and then on into Colorado for a couple of days and then making a circle down to New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma and back here to Missorri.
Now my question is, is there still any cool places to stop and look at ? I would like to hit parts of the old Route 66 and see if I can find some cool stuff to take pics of. I remember as a kid coming out here for the summers from CA we would take different routes each time and saw some really cool cheezy stuff. I just thought maybe my kids might get a kick out it...
As for right now the only plans we have is a hotel in Selena with a huge water slide and then hitting Pikes Peak and the Royal Gorge in Colorado. I wish I was able to take the Jeep, all kinds of places to have funnnnnnn. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
As for the confusing story, it's nothing illegal just delivering a table to a woman that belonged to her great grandfather or something like that. She is a friend of my aunts and she asked me to drive and she would pay for the trip. She a great lady and allways doing stuff like this for all of her grand neices and nephews since she never had any kids of her own....

I would try to see the Moab area. My wife has done some hiking in the area and wants to go back with the Jeep. Says it is beautiful. Definitely see the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs. Other than those two places I don't have any suggestions.

Great sand dunes national park

its in southern Colorado.

brings skis or a snowboard (old junk ones, not nice new ones)
you can ski or board down the huge sand dunes (100's of feet high)....its fun, but they dont have a ski lift
