OT saw something interesting.

So I was just watching a sitcom primarily black-oriented. A commercial comes on from Nissan about 2 black guys wheeling up to a new house one of them is having built.

That is amazing! Are we seeing a push, or at least an indication that wheeling may be becoming a sport not dominated by a particular race an/or culture? I for one, think that is excellent. Yet another way for good people to get together, and erase the "redneck" stereotype wheeling can conjure.

If you are out on the trail, I don't care what you look like, or what you believe (unless you toss a beer can, or cigarette butt ).

Just thought this was cool, after a couple of Martinis and some thought

Everyone is stunned around here when a couple of our regulars get out and they are black...

Hell, people are shocked that we have women, a full blooded Indian and a couple of blacks in our group.

If they can put up with me, they can put up with anyone!

LEVE, you of all people should know why I have the 'NO TAZ' tag line...

With me, you get a chance to be a human, and if you screw that chance up, I'll probably give you another one...

If you are bright enough, I may even take you on as a 'Special Project' and try to make a human out of you.

If you screw the second chance up, then, well lets say I won't miss an opportunity to stick a fork in you...
And you better hope I never get within match throwing range when you are covered in gasoline...

I've got nothing against blacks or anyone else...
I served with some damn fine people of color in the military, and if you have something to say about my friends or fellow soldiers, please have the respect to do it in person, face to face.

I saw a nissan 4x4 ad that pissed me off the other day. It's in JP, I think. The caption reads: It's a great big wide open country. Tread Boldly!

I'm thinking, "WHAT wide open country??" Aren't we supposed to be treading LIGHTLY to try to hang onto what's left?

"And then I said, 'Just like that, but with more gas!' Oops..."

Nah, I thinks it just a marketing push to sell more vehicles. I find the ethnicity of commercials kind of curious. Whenever they show a workplace, there is one guy of every visable race, and they make sure the boss is black or a woman. It simply looks phony. Ethnic diversity, or simply exploitation? They are selling something.

I don't care who goes wheeling! The more the better as long as they mind their P's & Q's, act responsibly...
(and don't make me shoot them! )

Anyway, I've had women bosses, black bosses, now I'm my own boss and I'm 7/8 German, 1/8 Native American, so I guess I'm mixed race too...

If any of you want to make an issue of that, I'll be glad to 'Discuss' it at our next meeting...
----------------

The solution is really easy to the 'Race Issue'...
We all get naked, jump in a pile, and f*#k until we are the same color...

Barring that, it's just a waste of time to complain about it...

I was adopted at birth....so I guess that makes me 100% American....

Ok...maybe it was part marketing ploy....but if it works....great....but if I have apply a stereotype to offroading....it would be the young punk faced kid, no shirt in his big lifted Cheby or Ford truck tearing up the trails....you know the guy....he has the bumper sticker that says "if you think I drive like I own the road, that is because I do".
