? on TJ sway bar disconnects

Can the stock disconnects just be unbolted at the top when needed, or do I need to buy a actual disconnect. Also is there a link to home built disconnects that someone knows about?
Thanks

its better to disconnect from the bottom.....

but yes...you can just unbolt it.

doing it frmo the bottom will keep them from getting in the way....and if yours are anything like mine were on my TJ, the top bolt breaks off before it unbolts

i replaced my lower bolt with a clevis pin and a hair pin cotter. i added some washers to make it tight.....it worked pretty good, but had slight slop since the pin was smaller diameter than the original bolt. you could order a pin that fits better than what i had though

total cost....about $5

Im thinking for as little as Id need it, I would be fine with just carring extra bolts incase I brake the original when I take it off. Thanks again

That top bolt it slightly tapered, and does not come out without HUGE persuasion. Unbolt it from the bottom and you'll be MUCH happier.

"And then I said, 'Just like that, but with more gas!' Oops..."
