Red face CJ mounting frustration!

I got a little ahead of myself. I asked for help to pick a tranny,tc combo for the new CJ5(78). Thanks for all the ideas. That list has shortened quite a bit. Pun intended. Looks like the T176/D300 will be the only option there.

Now for the frustration.

I ASS-U-MEd that finding the engine mounting brackets would be easy. I have had no luck locally finding the frame mounts for a CJ. Does anyone have the frame brackets for a CJ to mount a 258? Someone, somewhere has to have a set lying around. Also the brackets on the engine. I've torn my garage apart twice and come up with some for a Waggy. My next move is to drag out the torch and welder and make a set to use the 4.0 style. Got 3 sets of 4.0 engine brackets and mounts. Would be much easier to locate the engine correctly first and then worry about the mystery drivetrain. So---if any of you have pulled the ole 258 and dropped in the newer/bigger motor please look around and see if you have any mounts left over. Any help would me muchly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jackie

I knew someone out there was listening! I guess I wasn't speaking in the best of the King's english. Yep! All I need are the brackets that bolt to the frame that the engine drops onto. Four bolts to the frame and whatever to the biscuit. If you have them, how much. I'll be waiting.

Thanks
Jackie

I've got the frame horns from where I fabbed new ones, but I got rid of the block side mounts with the engine.

Hopefully the picture will attach. This is the homely little creature in need of mounts. File is too big and I'm to dense to change it!
