Removing Front Suspension 97 Tj Sport

Having A Heck Of A Time Trying To Get These Front Springs Out Of This Jeep. I Would Like To Be Able Top Just Jack It Up And Then Have Enough Clearance Between The Spring Ans Body To Put On My Coil Spacer. Can't Seem To Do It Though. I Already Removed The Swaw Bar Links And I Guess The Shock Need To Come Out To So Ill Try That And See If I Can Get The Clearance. Anybody Else Got Any Ideas? I Rented A Spring Compresor From Auto Zone But It Is A Pita To Use. Thanks For The Help

capitalizing every first letter of everyword makes that hella hard to read. go easy on the SHIFT key....what did it ever do to deserve that!

anyway....yea i had to remove the shock and it was still really hard to get the spring out w/o compressing it. the frame was on stands and I had Joel and Ed jumping on the axle trying to push it down far enough to get the spring to clear.

have fun with that

Remove the shock, remove the sway bar links, support it by the frame, let the axle hang down all the way.
The spring should be loose now.
Put a jack under the axle on the opposite side you want to pull the spring from, jack it up part way (to articulate it) till the spring you want out is loose enough to take out.
Sometimes it helps to take loose the trackbar on the right side.

Actually It's The Shift Lock Key. If You Type Everything In Upper Case, The Board Software Now Does This.

Well guys it took me about 6 hours but i got all four of those coil spacers in. This thing sits about as high as my cherokee did with a 3.5 inch lift and 31's. My 31's dont rub anymore in turns and it is great being higher, even if it is only 2 inches. When I get a decent job adb some money I am gonna put a 3.5 inch on there with a set of 33's. But that will have to wait. I gotta let the excitment of the 2 inch lift wear down a bit. Thanks for the help guys, and sorry about the CAPS.

For what it is worth, I have a 2003 TJ. I just bought 15x8 inch rims,
31x10.5x15 tires. I have no tire rubs or any clerance problems.
The TJ is box stock other than that.
