O/T Thanks JYG
Just wanted to drop a public thanks and show what it (their never done) ended up as. While not "correct" it's what I wanted. I might still put a teardrop FA on it. I don't at this time care that it has a magdrop fence, FA, and deflector. (those are all good things that I can't say I really want to give up on a gun that I WILL shoot) Maybe that will all change in the future but I'm happy how this build turned out.(and yes I can pick out other things like the charging handle and door, bla bla bla:p ) Never mind the 30 rd mag as straight 20's are coming. It's retro/old school cool and thats what I wanted. The teardrop is as far as I can see myself going with this one.

So thanks again for the parts to help build this Aaron!!:D
(BTW, hows the A1 grip look????!!!  :D )

I <3 guns!

LEVE 07-02-2007 10:40 PM

Wowsers... I want one!

That's just too cool for words!

Junk Yard Genius 07-03-2007 12:02 AM

Remember Dog, I can hunt you down the three prong flash hider and correct lock washer, and the other stuff you need.
I have tear drop FA lying around.

You ain't gettin' my M-16 rifle grenade launching rings!
Only have two or three of those left, and you never know when they might come in handy...:p

You sure don't see those A-1 first gen grips anymore! You lucked out finding one!
Few and far between!

For me, the mag button swell is a safety issue, and if you are ever going to let a left handed person shoot it, the brass deflector is a safety issue.

For a shooter, you do have the look! If I were you I'd enjoy it and since you aren't trying to pass it off as "The one I carried in 'Nam..." I can't see anyone saying anything about it!

You should see the cool little trick I do with night battle sights (large hole)...
I use mine for cracking the bull out of a 300 meter targets...
Check your PM, I don't want every guy that once saw an AR at someone's house starting crap on another thread...
This is CHEAP, easy and works great!

Dirt Dog 07-03-2007 05:46 PM

JYG, shoot me a PM on a price for a teardrop. I might just as well get it over with.:p

And Greg, here's it's "little brother".:D All dressed up and "mall tacticool".
It's a really fun gun and gets a BUNCH of rounds through it with the ciener kit.

And don't get me started on my other FUN 22's. I love em. I have an M1 carbine and AK both in 22lr. I won't even comment on the others. It's just another disease. But at least wal mart quit freaking on me buying 10k of ammo at a time.    :D

So, Dog, what did you think of that little insert for the rear sight?

Teardrop to you is the same price as the grip.
Don't tell people what I sold that to you for or I'll have to say 'No' to people a lot...

Is this a the AR show and tell thread!?
If so, Can I join in!

JeepnGreg 07-03-2007 06:34 PM

the little brother AR is sweet tooooo

I have a DPMS lower with a collapsible stock waiting for an upper.....I've had it for months but other things keep popping up so i havent gotten it yet....

stupid money....always going to more important replacing a bent toyota wheel, dog vet bills, house repairs and never ends....

Junk Yard Genius 07-03-2007 06:53 PM

Do you REALLY NEED a wife, dog, house ect. when you can have sweet toys!?

JeepnGreg 07-03-2007 07:13 PM

I'm Intrigue'd by your theory....and will prescribe to it.....
