How much money have you dropped in your rig

The title says most of it... This is a quick Gut check for some and others, maybe a long list of WTF's...
As for myself... I dropped a tad over $16,000 into my Jeep... (And I'm not Done yet).... (No wonder my ole' lady hates the thing)
Original 82 CJ ($500)
Engine ($8000)
A couple parts jeeps... (one for $50 the other for $500)
1 ton axles with spares D60 spares ($2000)
89 "Joop" Tub ($500) From Woodfins (Richmond Va).
42" Swampers ($500)
TH400 Jeep Tranny plus complete performance rebuild kit ($700) total
NP205 gear driven short female 32 spline input ($150)
Th400 to Np205 adapter with output shaft ($500)
Roll-Bar material ($500)
Seats ($150)
Poison Spyder outboard kit ($500)
Warn 9000lbs winch ($675) ebay special
Soon to be doing a full hydro steer (custom) scrounging parts as we speak ($800) when said and done (After the "O-Sh!T" factor comes into play)...
Drive shafts dime a dozen from Junk-yard... (Cut, machine, press, tack, check, weld, check... finish welding check run-out etc)... Maybe ($150) for 4 shafts (Not including u-joints etc)
5 windshields ($500)
Soon to be doing custom 4 link and coil overs The four links will be cheap to make (for the most part)... the lowers I'll be using .500" thick DOM, uppers will be .375 or there abouts... (I have yet to fully price all this out )... But.. I'm along ways from being done.... but once she is she'll be a tank... that'll Run the nuts off of stuff...

Crap factor

Two jeep and $25,000 later I have a CJ7 that I'm ready to sale and a rubicon that needs nothing until the warranty wears off. Everyone warned me that this would be expensive!!! I just didn't listen very well.

Dude, it's not that I keep complete track of what I spend on the jeep... (I know the "there abouts of the prices" But, my ole' lady lets me know every Cent and then uses that against me!!!! Seriously... she knows it to the last Penny as she keeps all of the receipts... and if I don't have the receipts from the auto store, ebay etc.. She writes down the cost, on her pad of paper and then when the statement arrives she matches the amount or the closest one and then Highlites it and writes to the side JEEP CRAP!!! Oh-yeah I forgot to mention the Humvee rims another ebay special) She doesn't know of these yet...

The wife and I sat down one day and stopped adding around 9,000 and I paid 2,000 for the Scrambler. It still lacks lockers and lower gears and a couple other things.... The good thing is, it's her jeep and she doesn't mind putting the money into it. I would have to say that I just might be one lucky guy !!!!! Today I told her I need a vacation and she looked at me and said, why don't you take a week off and put your jeep back together. Can you believe that ?? Im telling you, im lucky to have her..... Sorry for the hi-jack, got a little carried away!!!!

Rough numbers, not including normal maintenance which can get expensive running the river.

Original 79 CJ7 - Ebay $3600.00
Got it home, had rusty fuel tank, replace tank, sender, pump $200.00
Lift shackles, seat covers - $150
T150 starts jumping out of gear, replace syncros $150.00
Tired of T150, T18 D20 combo - Ebay $500
Another $150.00 to get it swapped in.
Scout D44 axles $250.00
SOA conversion, new shocks, hop stop, Ford shock mounts $700.00
35" tires $530
Extended flares $200

First three years= $6430.00

This last summer's frame off rebuild:

89 YJ frame and Tub $800.00
New fenders/windshield frame $375.00
Paint and body work $1000.00
New gauges/dash lights $100.00
LED's & flashers, new park/turn signal lights $220.00
New clutch linkage $60.00
New YJ radiator $160.00
New seats and rear seat cover $375.00
Roll cage material $85.00
Spray in bedliner $325.00
Wiring supplies $100.00+
New wheels $600.00
Another hoome built front bumper $35.00 (left over steel)
Off road lights $50.00
I've got hardware and part store receipts about an inch thick on my bench. probably another $500.00-$750.00

Rough estimate of rebuild total= $4785.00-$5035.00

So far= $11,215.00-$11,465.00

I know there is plenty I have missed, but at least now, I have a rig that I feel is worth what I've got into it. Of course, now that's it's completely rebuilt, I've been wheeling her almost every weekend!

Is this the only hammer you've got?
