Help me spend my money!

Ok this ought to be fun! I just sold my CJ and my wife aggread to let me spend about $500 for fun stuff on my 99 TJ. The problem is what to get?
1. Wench but Ive been told that I would need a dual batt and high output alt.
2. Lift but with all the extra (slip yoke eleminator) and new drive shafts
3. Lighting
4. line-ex the tub
5. I just dont know?

A about my TJ, it is a 99 with a 2.5 and 5 speed trany, soft top and 1/2 doors. It has 30x9.5 Goodyear Mts. I dont care for the rims but they are true and look ok. it only has 43K for miles and runs out good. I do use this as my DD. I did take it to Moab and the it seemed to have enough clearence (though I had to stack a few more rocks than the other guys). I dont plan on much more than 31" tires, I am learly of lockers in my stock axles (30 & 35), or would they hold up to the abuse of trail rides and DD with 31s on it. Or do I need to just get Dana 44s.
I also have a custom rear bumper and hi-lift, along with various tools, a CO2 bottle for tires and a fire extingher.

My goals is to make the jeep more capable, safer, last longer and look better.
So have fun with this one and tell me how to spend my $500 mad jeep cash!

winch actually
you do NOT need a dual battery and high output alternator for a winch. they go right on stock TJ's no problem.

2. Lift but with all the extra (slip yoke eleminator) and new drive shafts
this is more like $2500 properly done

3. Lighting
useless

4. line-ex the tub
herculiner is $90. do it yourself!

5. I just dont know?

Here is what I would do for $500

herculiner $90
lockright locker in the front $250
rocker rails $200

I'm a touch over budget, but I'd love to have a TJ with only these mods.

It's not what you have. It's what you do with what you have

I agree that the lift is far to expensive if done right, as for the herculiner, I put it in the CJ and it kept coming up and never was very thick. But thanks for the input, I didnt think about the rock sliders.

Yeah, I like Leve's Idea.
For $500 you should be able to get a good, safe, and solid cage in your Jeep. That is a great mod.

Once apon a time I played with legos... Now I have a Jeep

Donít go for the wench, thatíll be the last time your wife lets you have $500.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world.
Those who understand binary and those who don't.

The wife agrees the wEnch would cost more than what Id like to spend. But the wInch would be ok to buy. (sorry for the spelling...lol).
I like the roll cage and Ill get some prices today on that. As for the locker, I started a post on the Dana 35 today to see if its worth building. (I know you said front) along with that I am concidering a disc break swap in the rear. again depending on if the D35 is worth building! Thanks for the good ideas and keep them coming.
Thank you

Thanks for the help, this is what I did, Warn M8000 winch and a mounting plate. that put me about 100 over what I wanted to spend, but thats ok. A buddy also gave me a pair of 1.5 lift blocks for the front. So they went on and looked good untill the winch went on and the front end settled again.
But I liked your ideas and will use them for future builds.
Thanks again,

Make sure you relocat the box under the hood on that 8000 and run a grounding wire to the winch case. I would explain further but I don't want to criticise.

Ya only go around once, best to enjoy it the first trip.
