CJ Grill and Radiator

I am getting closer after many years of my CJ sitting on jack stands. The grill has been off for at least 6-7 years.

I realize the fenders bolt into the sides. The two support rods from the bulkhead attached to the top of the grill, does it matter which one goes on the drivers/passenger side? One rod has an additional metal piece that would go on the bulkhead side?

How and by what bracket does the bottom of the grill get supported? What size bolts hold the radiator in? Thank you for your help. Duane

On my '78 the support rods form the firewall to the grill are identical - threaded on one end and beaten flat with a hole on the other. There's a tab at the grill on the passenger side for the hood prop rod.

The only connection between the frame and the grill is by a body mount biscuit right in the middle.

The radiator-grill bolts are are 5/16-18, about 1/2" long. Might be 5/8" long to accomodate a plastic shroud and washer.

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

Thanks,it really helped. I am assuming there was a metal bracket that the bolt went through before going through the frame sheet metal and then into the bottom of the radiator. Tab for support rod, got it.
