O/T Happy Father's Day!

When I think of fathers, I think of leadership. Look at these two verses in Genesis:
Quote:
And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children [are] tender, and the flocks and herds with young [are] with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir (Genesis 33:13–14).
“The children are tender ... lead on softly ... and the children be able to endure ...”

The challenge a father has is to:
  • lead on softly”
  • — not with harshness or
  • — unreasonable demands or
  • — unrighteous dominion.
Remember back to when you were all wee lads... and the relationships you had with your own fathers. Cherish the good and out with the bad.

Lead your families, not simply endure them, nor them you!

Ok....
Well, for all you dads. have a great day!

And when you are presented with the tools of the BBQ, make sure that the chicken is tender!

Who's "us"? I just got done mowing the yard and now I'm going to work! I do get to spend some QT with the kiddos before I go though. None-the-less, happy father's day to all of you dads out there.

It didn't work last time either.

John,

You just made all the bachelors on the list shudder

Had breakfast with dad, gave him one of those electric cresent wrenches as a joke, saw the granddaughter's dance recital, and was civilized to her biological father. Oh and bought myself a new BBQ!
Whew, been a long day.

BTW: You lucky bum
