a Jeep followed me home after the bash.... (LOTS OF PICTURES!)

yup...it followed me home...i kept looking in the rear view mirror and it was there

the tag on the inside of the engine compartment says CJ2a....looks like a later windshield frame.

this used to be the grounds jeep from my high schools Abby/monastery .... they used it for everything from working on the Christmas tree farm to hauling junk to carrying a beer keg at the football games.

i'm pretty excited to get my hands on it......

i got the jeep AND the trailer its on for 1400$....... $850 for trailer.....$550 for the jeep.

it runs...but smokes a lot and runs kinda rough...i figure if i pop on a solex carb, the rough running would go away.....the current W-O carb is leaking gas...yikes...

the body is GREAT (albeit very dented)....its better than my 75 cj6......it has solid floors and all the panels are good, except the passenger side rear thats slightly rough where the spare mount used to be.....

Sweet.
I'm glad it worked out for you, Greg.
I know it's a year away, but you'd better get to work asap.

Jim

i thought that was a PTO...not an OD....im not sure though....looks like a pulley that goes to no-where to me

maybe i can find a PTO winch for it somewhere

i cant wait to get it going...but it'll be a while too.....gotta get the house sold and move into a new house before i make a mess digging into it.....

Greg, the OD is referencing the color--olive drab. Hope it has the PTO for you, that's really a plus. Glad you got it. It was good to see you last night at the Bash.

The pulley was used for, among other uses, a water pump for spraying poison/fertilizer etc. The early CJs had a bunch of farm equipment options.
Back in the day, I've seen high output generators used to power small cabins run off those pulleys.

that looks like a pretty good find Greg.

What's the last thing a Jeeper hears ? "betcha can't"
What's the last thing a Jeeper says ? " Watch this !!"

Oh, i git it

the original color is dark red....as evident by the engine compartment and underbody......so i may try to go back to that eventually....

I'm going to make it run decent and leak free, get some small original type wheels and tires...add a cage and the wheel it like that.

no big tires or custom axles.....just try to keep it as intended.....

W.C.

i've seen some of the PTO options but havent seen the sprayer you mention.

one of my dream jeeps would be an all original 3B with the mini backhoe trench thingy on the back and a plow up front (if they ever made a loader bucket for the front i'd want that, but dont think they ever had those)

Cool find Greg!

I actually picked up a rig myself late last fall, haven't touched it yet but have been collecting parts. I bought a 1968 Jeepster! Maybe we could have some sort of vintage run next year as it's going to take me that long to get this thing done. I'm leaving it mostly stock and it will be a very clean driver. Whats the latest on the CJ-6?
