way around indy 38th st bash directions

Ok How the heck do i get around indy.

I come across I-70w
then I65 north
Then to 38th st west
then to 465 s

I hate the 38th st part of the trip.
Its nothing but stop lights.
Is there an easier way around that isnt longer in time.

I know the first year i went i didnt go that way. But ill be damn if i can find those directions.

Jim

Dale will likely chime in, and he knows Indy better than I do.

When we brought Daves jeep from Troy that year we wnt 70 to 465 and up. When I look at it on the map I am not sure that was the correct route, but it never stopped. Continuous flow and no lights.
Are you coming in thur or fri?

Ya only go around once, best to enjoy it the first trip.

Not sure why you would use 38th Street.... But at this point you can't really win either.... "SUPER 70" is a bit messy between I465 on the east side of Indy all the way down town. But you can use it (Tractor Trailer rigs can't).

Best way when everything is normal would be I70 right through downtown to Airport Expressway then take I465 north to I74 and go west.

Second best way would be to take I465 South from I70 on the east side of Indy and just stay on it until you turn the corner, pass the Airport and then find I74 on the west side of Indy. Then go west on I74.

Remember that I465 makes a complete circle around Indy and you won't have any problem with the trip.

Hope that helps.

Similar question...but I'm coming from Midway airport.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I think it would be faster overall to take the 57 fwy down to the 74. It's going to be late in the evening so I don't figure there is too much to see....we just want to get there in time to try Jim's martini's.

After looking at a map and knowing what a pita it is to get from Midway to I65.... Sounds like a plan to me.... Might be a little longer but likely faster.
