Buy gear lube by the barrel? Looks cold!

Is the river bottom sand or mud?

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

He might be on a street, at least he could have done that on some streets here yesterday. I-29 up near him was under water and closed for several hours yesterday. North of me rivers are as much as 14’ above flood stage and expected to crest tomorrow.

That bit of green sticking up makes me wonder if this is normally where the river is.

CRAP Tim! It was way chilly to be getting that deep last week. I'm getting closer with mine, hopefully within the next few days I can see if she'll float.

Jim N Taz... That's the Platte River. It's a very flat and wide river with a sand bottom. We've been experiencing a drought here for a while, so the greenery is simply what had grown on the high spots, but now is covered. The sand and wide river means the deep channels and holes are always moving around. If the bottom's hard you can cruise through 4 feet of water all day... but if it's soft... let's just say I hope you have a farmer jack. And it's best to wheel in groups.

Is this the only hammer you've got?

could'nt of said it better myself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes the river bottem is very unstable right now!!!! the platte river is normally very dry and a good place to play but we have had a little rain out here!!!!

Anyways it was a good learning event and i learned that a guy will panic once the water gets that deep!!!!
