OT-Closed on our house last night

Finally a home owner, between us and the bank anyway.

189900, 4BR, 2.5 Ba, 2000ish sqft, 1/2 acre lot.

We be happy. And it sucks buying a house that you've not physically walked through.

I curious about the nuts and bolts of that process. I'm assuming the missus is in Oki with you. HOW do you manage to find, "see", and purchase a house from half the globe away?

Lets make this perfectly clear...if the 'missus' is happy...you will be happy...that's how it works. Because we ALL know that if the 'missus' is NOT happy....NOBODY is happy.....

Oh....and congrats on the house....now you just need to negotiate with the 'missus' on a schedule that allows you some time to work on the jeep between house projects....

My mom knew a realtor from the Greensboro are that work with commercial property and he hook us up with a residential realtor. Then we just started narrowing it down. We worked the house around the school districts, that way, we could get the kids in the better schools that they had. The main thing I wanted was to be within 25 miles from work, that way I could cycle right in. Once we narrowed the houses down, we had our realtor go check and take photos of each one. This was the second house that we offered on, the first one, the owner wouldn't budge on the price. For us, it has been about a five month process. The people that we're dealing with will be renting for the month of May from us.

Theresa is always happy, those that have met her, will agree, I've got me a definite keeper.

One of the reasons we got the two car garage was so I could have me a work area, I've already got me a sound system to put in the garage, and it will be rocking

are you going to retire out there?

It's not what you have. It's what you do with what you have

Whenever I tell someone that the bank actually owns my house, they look at me like I said I was from Mars.

Houses on courts are so nice.

I assume you have the same deal with the "bank" that I have;
As long as I make the mortage & interest payments that will allow me to make the tax & insurance payments too.

Congrats on the new home!
Another rite of passage. Now your not just a slave to your Job, Wife and Kids .... you can add the House the list now!

Don't know, much depends on what this next board does. In zone and get promoted, definite re-enlistment for two more, with a possibility of more. No promotion, retirement package goes in in November, terminal starts 1 March, retired 31 May
