Building a Towbar

I searched and mainly found comments about where to mount one but didn't really find any info on material used.
I'm planning on using 2" x 3/16" square tube, That sound about right for everyone?

Thanks

Troy

Plenty strong.

And I recommend a "Bulldog" coupler. That's the kind that's split into two sides, with a hinge pin at the front. You pull back a sleeve ring and the right side swings open. Drop it over the ball, close it and slide the sleeve forward.

Besides being the strongest type available, they won't "top" the ball - seem to latch closed while sitting on top of the ball, so that it will tow for a while until a big bump jounces it off.

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

Sweet!
As it is layed out in peices in my front room right now!
Is that wrong? :/
Anyway, It's goin on the 89 Wrangler just a quick thing (but probably permanent in the long term) to move it while it's DOA. :/
I have seen those hitches and agree that is what I will get long term but as this is a hurry up situation I'll be using a $20 Walmart special. heh

Thanks and I'll try and grap pics.
