OT... Good News For ME!

Good news, Good news!
After a year and a half of ducking the obvious, the lawyer has finally pinned down the insurance company and got them to agree to pay for the last two surgeries I need to get my back working correctly again!

Got the doctor looking for a schedule opening for the first of the last two surgeries now! Can't wait to get this tail bone taken care of!
It's been noting but trouble since it broke, and there is no such thing as comfortable with two links broken off your tail bone!

Anyway, the tail bones first, then the L-5 disc replacment....

Actually I have had back problems in the past... You are a minor pain in comparison. Don't whine, or be a pain in the a$$.

Broke your tailbone - how'd you do that?
A fall?
Working too hard (busting your a--.)

Hey - Just realized -- bet it was a divorce!

The IRS has a habit of using things way too big - was it that?

On a cat walk, Feet tangled up in electric lines, went over backwards and cracked my tail bone/lower back on the ladder to the cat walk, upside down and backwards.
(Damn snow!)

L-5 vertebra cracked, L-5 disc blown, Sacrum cracked, two links knocked off the tail bone...
Lots of PT, steroids and pain later the lawyer finally gets the insurance company to agree to the corrective surgery...

The insurance company kept saying 'Existing Condition', but the MRI's, CAT scans, X-rays, ect. all prove it's a new injury (like the old one wasn't bad enough!).
I guess the specter of impending law suits finally got to be more than the surgery, so they agreed to pay...

Anyway, I'm SO HAPPY!
No more psychotic nerves!
(psychotic because I never know when it's going to act up and make me a couch potato)

No more needing a chair to get to the bathroom because I can't stand upright on my own...

No more steroids!
I've gained 75 pounds in the last year from the steroids!
And I've only managed to take about 30 of it off since they stopped...
I can't Wait to get this extra weight off! It will be great to be able to walk through the woods again, or do any kind of exercise for that matter!

I'm so tired of this back brace!!!!
I can't wait to burn this thing at the stake!

No more constantly hurting tail bone!
Nothing like never being able to get comfortable!
You can't sit down, lay down, or stand without the tail bone hurting!

No more headaches for no reason,
No more dizzy spells,
No more pain medication that makes me an idiot,
No more delodid, oxycontin, percocet, darvocet, instant release morphine, lortabs, oxycodone or any of the other chemicals that are a stop gap to actually fixing the problem...
Lets not forget the gobs of muscle relaxers, nerve blocking agents, sleeping pills and other crap they pile on you by the bucket full!
I've flushed a ton of this crap and looks like a ton more is going away very soon!

No more steroids that make you hyper, irritable and hungry ALL the time, no such thing as enough to eat,
No more spinal injections,
No more hour long rides each way for 20 minutes of therapy,
No more doctors saying, "We'll give it another round of steroids, come back in two weeks"...,
No more providers sending me bills because the insurance company won't pay unless you get the lawyer to spell things out for them,
No more home traction!

NO MORE BITCHING ABOUT MY BACK!

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you've been through HELL!
Not fun at all.

Hopefully now they can actually DO something about it.
Hopefully the doctors will do it right rather than make things worse.

Careful about those docs - remember they are just "practicing."

I recently got the railroading from them with my heart.
I left my old doc 'cause he's 150 miles away - a big mistake! I hooked up with one that was supposed to be one of the best heart guys in the country. He changed my meds and wanted to put in a pacemaker. After the med change I started to really go downhill. I initially resisted the pacemaker at first, but finally agreed.
But -- Just before the operation he decided to retire! He did not turn the business over, no referrals, he was just going away! That left me hanging!

I found another "best in the country" doc - he changed meds again and set me up for the ticker clicker - but he didn't do any testing, no history, no information - he just asked me a few questions!
It sure seemed like a scam to me - at supposedly one of the best heart hospitals in the county -Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs.
A pacemaker is about $45,000 plus installation - is that enough motivation?

By then I was feeling really bad, I could hardly walk without gasping for air or do much of anything. I couldn't even go Jeeping! I figured it was my end.

Before he could finish me off and bury me, I called my original doctor "Can I come home?"
It's been about 4 months now, I'm back to what I was before all of this - no clicker needed, back to the same old meds I'd been taking for 11 years until the "experts" changed them. I'm feeling acceptable - and most importantly - back to Jeeping 2 or 3 times a week!

BE CAREFUL! - I don't trust docs much anymore! Now that you have insurance they'll bleed the insurance company - at your health's expense!

Doctors kill far more each year than guns do, we have "gun control," where is "Doctor Control?"
