OT/ What to do

Long story short.

Pops has a '98 Garnd Cherokee Laredo fully loaded. It was an extra vehicle that was paid for. It was stolen and trashed. Things that are still good on it. 318 V8, Front ABS D30 Sans one Disc. Rear Disc Alum. D44 ABS. Most of the Body except one front corner. Interior Heated Power Seats Tan Leather.

this thing could be rebuilt, but the Tranny now only has 1st gear, T-case was already on it's way out. Stupid Viscous coupler NP249 T-case.

Options:
Sell it to Scrap yard. (dollars in pocket)
Part it out and scrap left overs (dollars in pocket)
rebuild it and use it as a beater (more dollars out of pocket, but something to drive)

Other ideas?

What do you think you could get for parting it out? It has about 130K on it.

Re: OT/ What to do

Unless you were already needing another vehicle to drive, I'd part it out, maybe hold onto any parts you think you might want to use someday like the 318 or rear ends, etc. Take the cash you get from parting it out and getting something you've been saving for.

Re: OT/ What to do

On the rebuilding idea,,,, I have seen a few done right, but most theft recoverys I see rebuilt are nothing but lemons.
Scrap is up in my neck of the woods. Not sure how it is down there.
318 is a good motor, just have to find someone looking for it,,,,,,

So basicly I told you nothing of value,, so good luck.

Re: OT/ What to do

He doesn't need the vehicle. He just thinks it's a waste to scrap vehilces with good parts.
