Tow Bar towing a CJ5

I just got a tow bar from a friend for the CJ, I need to get it to my place about 45 minutes from the shop, and she aint running.

Anything I need to know, I think I recal hearing that I need to remove the driveline? Is this so?

thanks

Re: Tow Bar towing a CJ5

I used to flat tow my 76 CJ5 (T-18a and Dana20) behind my 95 full size Bronco. I unlocked the hubs and made sure that both the tranny and t-case were in neutral. Made some longer runs (65 miles) without any problems. I figure that as long as the CJ is in good shape, there should't be any problems. Good luck and have fun!

If this is for the CJ5 in your signature, then no you don't have to remove the driveline. For the dana 20, put the transfer case in neutral and the transmission in gear.
