Extended brake lines?

Im in need of a good source for some brake lines. The manager at O'Reilly's told me if I can find the fittings, he would make them for me. Any ideas on where to start? The stainless lines seem a little over priced but I know they are better. I have about 8-10 inches of lift on the Scrambler now and not to mention the wider axles so they are going to be pretty long. Im just look for some ideas if anybody has some to share.

Re: Extended brake lines?

IIRC, 1987-1991 Blazer/Jimmy/Suburbans have very, very long brake lines, about 22" long.

Re: Extended brake lines?

I have a set of those and they are just long enough to reach the caliper and no extra for flex! They are stretched tight.

Re: Extended brake lines?

Just pull your old ones off and take the hole brake lines in to a Hydrolic shop. They will cut your old one apart and put a new line on them. The cost should even be cheeper then buying new stock ones in the short length.

Re: Extended brake lines?

That sounds like a plan but it might be harder to find a hydrolic shop around here than finding the fittings! I'll check and see what I can come up with.

Re: Extended brake lines?

Give a couple of rental shops a call and ask them who they get hydrolic lines from. Rental shops that rent small cats and the like.

Re: Extended brake lines?

Inline Tube...Jegs....Summit....they all carry longer lines.

I'm lucky in that I have a place right down the street where I can buy Earl's lines.

Re: Extended brake lines?

Why not just do a center drop?
then you can flex all you want and it will not hurt your lines. It worked out very well for my setup..
