OT Started on a new rig
So today I went and did it. I picked up an '89 2 door blazer, 4.3, auto, 150ishk on it, runs decent, typical midwest rust.
Plans are to use the buggy axles (44/9" 4.56's, locked, discs), cross over steering off the buggy, my 36" tls's on bead locks and some other little parts. I'm thinking flip the rear springs for a couple more inches of wheel base/ new wheel wells/ lift gas tank/ new rear floor. Up front kick the front end forward a couple inches and use coils and radius arms. Do a full interior cage with 4 race buckets, harnesses, 4 swinging cup holders, a dog bed, and mounts to keep all my junk tied down. Front and rear bumpers out of 1 1/4" sch 40, rock sliders, and a flat belly pan.
I stripped the interior today of all the plastic and carpet to reveal the nasty floors and keep fire hazards down. Oh yeah it's 2 tone black and gold, sits 5'2" tall, 101" wheel base, and a whoping 8.5" of clearance under the belly. The goal is to keep it around 6' or 6'2" tall, 18-20" belly, probably 105" wheel base.
I'll try and get pics up soon
