O/T Finally got power back!

Finally get to relax after a week of no power after our litlle ice storm. One of the guys that work for the power company says we still have about 30k people with out power. I'm feeling lucky! Two weeks ago I was complaining about spending a grand to have trees trimmed over and around the house but after hearing them start to snap and uproot I sure am glad I had it done. It's an scary feeling laying in bed at night and hearing a tree snap and wonder if it's coming through the roof. Only had two branches hit the roof but a lot of people were not that lucky. Now we are suppose to get it again today but hopefully we keep power.

That wasn't luck that saved you from those trees and limbs, it was good ol' fashioned work!

Yep. If you're going to ride an old Beezer, or a Triumph or Norton for that matter, you'd better be prepared.

I think the same thing could be said for my 1939 Ariel Square Four. That Lucas electrical equipment was almost certain to let you down.

Re: O/T Finally got power back!

Well I thought the roof was fine. Went to sit on the porcelin throan and the roof decided to take a LEAK on me. I went out and climb up on the roof to remove the limb since the trees are clear of ice to find it made a six inch whole in the roof! Patched it with some sheet metal. Time to call the insurance company. It was time for a new roof anyway. Trying to stay in good spirits! My wife says, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger!
