WOW!

that's the first video of lionsback that I've seen that shows just how steep it is. I didn't realise it was that steep. [email protected]!!!! to those that have done it!

Re: More Lion\'s Back

That is just plain scary. I don't know if I would have tried it when I was 25, but I know I want nothing to do with it at now 65. It would be a nice place to take some beer and a desiginated driver to watch. Nope, on second thought, too scary to enjoy the beer.

Re: More Lion\'s Back

Yeah, but it would be fun! Even if I screwed up - It would take 15 undertakers 3 weeks to get the grin off my face!

Re: More Lion\'s Back

I saw a pic of Lion's Back many years ago on a brochure I got when I bought some slickrock springer hangers. There was a jeep coming down from the top and it looked damned scary to me. I have been to Moab since then and have seen it for myself and trust me, its scary! Someone bought the little piece of land in front of Lion's Back and charges you to drive over it to get to it. I can't watch the video from here but if the Toy your talking about is the blue one wedged in the rocks I can tell you what we were told when we were there. The guys in the Toy moved over to let some pass. I think they were going up. Why there was 2 rigs going in opposite directions on that monster at the same time I'll never know. Anyway, they came to a stop and the Toy flipped over backward when they took off and it landed where it is today. They had chopper come and try to pull it out but it was wedged in too tight to move. It has been there for several years and has been stripped of many of its parts. They said the people in the Toy survived but were badly hurt. It was kind of funny when we were there last year, a guy came running up to us in a panic screaming someone had crashed off of Lion's Back! We were freaking out a little thinking someone had been killed but it turned out to be the old Toy up there. I'm sure some of you saw one of the 4x4 shows talking about the 3 young men that were killed when they rolled off the top. Two in the jeep and I guess the other was trying to hold the jeep down. Three white cross's mark where they landed.
