100 Acre Wood Rally

Coming up February 23rd and 24th. Headquarters in Salem, Missouri, running mainly south and east of Salem to the Viburnum and Potosi areas. More information here.

As usual we need people to serve as marshalls at spectator areas and intersecting roads, Ham radio operators for the communication networks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles to pull broken race cars out of the woods. Ham operators with a 4-wheel drive are especially appreciated.

Also as usual, there will be an awards ceremony and a fine buffet meal provided for all workers and competitors Saturday evening after the event.

Also once again there will be free camping and a post rally off-roading party on Sunday Feb 25th at Flat Nasty Off Road Park for all the sweep helpers.

Re: 100 Acre Wood Rally

Will, are you going to come up with the little Jeep now?

Anyone else coming? If so you should go to the official website HERE, pick the WORKERS tab, and register. That will make it a lot easier for you when you get there, and help us plan assignments. The sooner you register, the more critical (and interesting) assignment you'll get.

Yup, bringing the little jeep again. I am thinking of putting the lockright in the rear though.

Great! Bring a sleeping bag and air mattress if you can. I don't know what the lodging arrangements will be, but they'll llikely be tight.

Re: 100 Acre Wood Rally

Any news of accomodations? Do I need to pick up a mattress and sleeping bag on the way up?

Re: 100 Acre Wood Rally

Wow, I wish I had known about this one sooner. I really need to get on and check the posts every time I check my email. I hope you guys have a great time. Some of my greatest volunteer memories are from working safety communications for the Pikes Peak hill Climb each 4th of July.

Re: 100 Acre Wood Rally

You don't have a sleeping bag? I'll bring one. We have a room for all nights - tonight at the Ranch and the rest at the Holiday Inn Express.

You being the kid in the room might have to take the floor, so an air mattress would be beneficial.

When you coming up?

Sorry you're going to miss it, Mark. I thought that I mentioned it to you long ago. Yep, you do need to check in more often.

I'll be up there sometime tonight. I've got your number so I'll call and wake you up in the middle of the night again this year.
