O/T 95 Chevy Pickup HVAC question

I have a 95 Chevy 1/2 ton Z71 and the heater is stuck wide open. Everything works but the temperature control. Controls on this truck are electric. From time to time it will close the air door so I'm pretty sure the problem in with the small stepper motor that moves the door. My manual does not have much information on HVAC controls. Does anyone know were the stepper motor is located or can direct me to a website that might help me out.

Thanks
Doug

Re: O/T 95 Chevy Pickup HVAC question

You are probably correct. I would have to guess the air blend motor. (it's stuck in hot right?) Thats common. If it has no other problem thats where I'd aim. I had to do a bunch when I was doing auto HVAC and have sold the same since being in sales. Second in line would be the control head.(the push button control but if everything else works fine go for the motor) Let me know what you find.

Re: O/T 95 Chevy Pickup HVAC question

Reread your question and thought I shoul add........
The motor is behind the glovebox up and to the left. If you question if your right just unhook it and run it manually with the engine warm.............hot..........cold......you will be able to tell if you have the right one. I know you can get it from the dealer or a junkyard (I sell them all the time) and I'd even guess you can get them from an "autozone" type of store these days.

Need to pop the glovebox out to get to it. Easy and only a few seconds work.
