That's why I put a note pad in the top of my storage box lid and write down anything that gets used or taken out.

Things that sre always in my Jeep:
Basic tool kit with standard/metric wrenches/sockets.
Larger socket set.
3# hammer.
Hub socket.
Folding saw.
Multi tool.
2 Flashlights.
Pens, maps and paper.
Matches.
Steel Wool.
Insulated solid copper wire (can be used for bailing or electrical repair).
Zip ties.
Tarp.
Para cord.
Fire extinguisher.
First aid kit.
Water, oil, gear oil, PS fluid, brake fluid.
Soap, hand cleaner, shampoo, toilet paper, towels.
Jack and lug wrench.
Tow strap and two D rings.
Light jacket.
Duct tape.
Spare hub, u joint.
Nuts and bolts.
Gloves.
CB, cell phone.

Depending on the ride and distance I may add:
Food and water.
Weather related clothing.
Heavier spare parts.

I never trail ride alone and never travel to a ride without at least one other person in another vehicle.

Hate to say it, but I really didn't make plans, it was a "Design as you go" project. But here are a couple of pics.

And with seat installed. It's really fairly hidden, and there was room on the top to mount my stereo amp. On the bottom side I put a couple of weld dabs on the seat bolt threads to discourage removal.

Nice box - but how fast can you get into it?
Once off road, my piece is within reach at all times.

I travel alone quite a bit when I'm out prospecting. Gotta be totally self reliant.

Re: what do you carry in you jeep?

Funny, I've just never needed a handgun on the trail...
Never seen anything I needed a hand gun for I couldn't do with a rifle...
(Hand guns are for transvestite hookers and cops... And I can't tell the difference anymore.)

As for what's in my jeep,
Some rocks, mud, lots of leaves, some food wrappers, an pint bottle of Jack black (antifreeze!), and some 'goo' I can't identify right now...
Looks like a cat has taken up residence under the tarp/soft top so I may have kittens in there too!

Cats are fun when they are kittens, still small enough to fit in the skeet launcher!

True enough, but what do you do if you miss, and they get too big for the skeet launcher?

Re: what do you carry in you jeep?

I carry the following:

OBA
OBWelder
150pcs mechanics set
Fluids(Gear lube, ATF, engine oil,PS fluid, brake fluid)
Big lug wrench
Spare ujoints(driveshaft and axle)
Spare yokes
Spare adjustable control arm that will work on everything except upper front.
Spare electrical fitting, wire, fuses, tape, shrink wrap
Multimeter(It gets used all the time)
Welding cables, rod(disimilar), grinder(cut-off and grinding wheels)
Hammers
vise grips
Adjustable wrenches

hose clamps
small sections of hose
Small sections of pipe

Most of my things stays at my truck and trailor because the jeep gets too heavy. I wheel with others almost always and we are relatively close if we need to make a trip to get them.
