SOA with rear XJ springs = how much lift?

I'm thinking about going SOA on the rear of the YJ, using rear XJ springs for additional wheelbase. I need to know how much lift this will give me. The XJ springs are really flat compared to stock YJ springs, or the stock GW springs I'll be running up front. Should I expect to add a few leafs from another pack (perhaps from the stock YJ pack, or an S10 or Dakota pack) to level it out?

Re: SOA with rear XJ springs = how much lift?

I'm guessing the xj springs will be flat in the rear, they usually sit about flat on an xj. In the front of my buggy i have a set of 4 leaf yj front springs that had a short add a leaf in them when i got them. I took out the add a leaf and added the longest leaf besides the main leaf and 1 of the shorter leaf from a pair of early 80's 1/2 ton chevy rear springs. The springs sit perfectly flat, flex decent and ride good. I'm a big fan of "making" my own spring packs to get the rates right. My rear springs need just a little more work and i'll call them good. S10 rear leafs have probably 1-2" of arch spring over and work pretty decent, offset center pins, if you need some measurments i can grab some.

All that typing and you still forgot to answer the original question: "How much lift do you get by running rear XJ leafs SOA on a YJ?" From what I've heard elsewhere, I could expect about a 7" lift (or enough to level the rear if a 2.5" lift spring were used in SOA configuration up front)

An SOA using stock CJ or Wrangler springs will net you about 5 1/2" of lift....
XJ springs will be that much + what ever more you get because the CJ is lighter in the rear than an XJ...7" sounds reasonable...
