I'm looking at replacing my wiring harness (sometimes I get spark...sometimes I don't...depends on how I drive over bumps I think...)

Anyway...I think I'm going with Centech...

Just in their description they mention that if I have a newer than 83 CJ (which I do) that the harness does not come with wiring to the ECM, but that many people have eliminated their ECM.

1. If I wanted to keep my ECM, does that mean I'll need to splice into the Centech harness?

2. How do you "remove" the ECM (or is that not a discussion allowed on this board due to emmissions control or something)?

These questions have been sent to Centch as well...just figured I'd get better, more open, more honest responses here...

Re: wiring

Have you checked out Painless Wiring?

For the most part, the ECM harness and main harness are seperate. When I did my SBC swap, I completly removed the ECM harness and removed about 5-6 wires from the main harness.

I don't recomend removing the ECM for smog reasons...depending on the smog laws in your state, you may not be able to pass.
