Re: Is it just me or did the board change.

Yes, it does look unusual. I do remember, in passing, reading something on the home page about a change in the look of the site. My guess is that they're activating October's articles and making those site changes. It looks like the ads and links to the left and right are sucked-big time; so they're not quite ready to roll out the new look.

About May of this year there was a format change on the HomePage of ORC. They went to a CMS (Content Management System). This is a piece of software that helps assemble the content of the site. It takes a lot of the tedium out of publishing a monthly publication. Everything, and I mean everything is structured. The ad placement, the width of the right and left panes, the width of the information, etc.. I had to start writing the Jeep Creep Column, and any other article inside a 468 pixel wide table. That took some getting use to. However, once uploaded to the CMS, the CMS took over and automated the site. There were some problems with picture width's that caused me a lot of problems.

I'm assuming this change is an outgrowth of that initial change. I am surprised that the Forums content would be put in CMS format. Then I think about the revenue that's lost from not showing the ads. It must be a substantial loss for them to make this move. Every time there's a forum change... many people get upset. Many of us (myself included) do not embrace change.

I just hope it wasn't me!

Re: Is it just me or did the board change.

The style sheet I could get used to, but the scrunched in screen width is annoying.
I thought I could go to my preferences and change the sheet back, but the only ones offered are "default", this one, and what they are calling "new look", which is also this one. So after careful consideration, I chose this one.

Re: Is it just me or did the board change.

just further reason for me to not be interested in this site anymore, they wanna squish the posts to make room for ad's and they have removed are options as far as the style, I recall there used to be 5 or 6, and at least some of them looked good, this stinks. IMO.

Re: Is it just me or did the board change.

It probably looks good on somebodys screen.
I love work published when it's only half way finished.

Oh look what I've gone and done......Looks like we need to put in a wide banner on the first post on each topic.

[Edit]Removed wide picture so we all can squint. [Edit)
