HEI installed, now there\'s no spark

I just got the HEI module hooked up a couple days ago, it ran rough, now it doesnt at all. I had the timing light on but it didnt light up when I was cranking the engine. I know its possible that the light may be bad but still, it doesnt fire. the coil is getting 11.79 V to it with the ignition in run. Thats about all I know of to check. I had set the timing to 8 deg., and when i tried switching around the two pickup wires going to the dizzy, it didnt fire. and that is where my problems started. It hasnt fired since before I switched the PU wires. They are back to where they were before now and still nothin. I replaced the coil, rotor, and cap. oh, and if you havent been following my last post, I have the TFI system(base adapter/cap, 8mm plug wires, E-coil,), Weber 32/36, nutter, no computer or emissions including the egr. the vac line from the carb to the dizzy is ported. I dont have the stock module since I tore it apart to house the HEI. Any ideas?
Tim

I confirmed the timing light does work. Hooked it up to another vehicle.

Ok, one of the PU wires was grounded to the housing at the module. Just a few hours wasted on something stupid.

oh ya. I just got my MC2100 put in and it runs so much smoother. pretty excited bout that. now i gotta fab up a throttle linkage for it. by the way, I replaced my old silver colered cap with a new brass one and it ran like crap. put the old one back on and it ran great. WTF? I dont understand that.

Got a wire wrong? Didn't get the cap seated properly? Ah dunno.
