Re: O/T 4x4 Segway!

One of my old military friends at Aberdeen proving grounds told me they are looking into a 'Patrol' version of the Segway for soldiers.
He says the thing can carry the average 180 lb. soldier, and 200 lbs. of gear and ammo. on up to a 20° incline.
Flat land range of over 30 miles and able to navigate obstacles of up to 4".
(4" isn't even a curb!)

There is also supposed to be a triangular track model that can climb rocks and steps, but I haven't seen a picture of it yet.

Nearly $35,000 each for the prototypes!
I can't tell them from the regular Segways except it looks like bicycle knobbies for tires and a place to hang a back pack on the front of the upright tube...

Wonder if they come with an 'AMC' logo and oil leaks?

Humm... IMHO, not a good idea, let them make the Segway into a goat. Let the goat carry the load and let the GI walk...and here's little more fodder for thought: Segway Recalls Scooters for Injury Risk

Have you ever seen those little golf cart/caddy things that follow you around? (wireless)
I always though one of those would be a good idea for an ammo carrier...

No such thing as too many bullets in a gunfight!
