McCaslin Mountain, Spt. 22-24

We are heading to McCaslin Mountain in Lakewood WI thursday the 21st and wheeling for the weekend. Anyone want to come? I think we have around 5 or 6 rigs so far. If you have never been fun trails, rocks, mud, hills, probably wouldn't bring a bone stock jeep unless you know what you are doing.

Considering I live at approx 66 feet above sea level and the highest point in Florida is 345 feet. It is a mountain!

False alarm, McCaslins is in Lakewood,WI, now your probably even more surprised! It's a mountain, just smaller scale with more oxygen! You guys in Colorado and other "mountain" states must have lungs the size of Oak Trees. I made it one mile on a trail outside of Colorado Springs and I darn near needed to be air lifted out. No more elevations for me. I'll try and make Saturday Andy, sounds like a great time! I was there two weeks ago with the family Toyota and the dirt bikes, and in a word...it is "rough" this year. It's actually the worse I've seen it in the twelve years I've been going there. On a sad note, more trails are closed than ever before also including cement mixer. If you get a bunch of stockers, let me know, I know a nice, fairly challenging trail that is perfect for 31's, even 33's would still have a good time, half a dozen trucks would take about a 1/2 day.

We'll see you there Rick. I don't think we have many stockers going right now, so far i think the smallest rigs we have going are a couple with open diffs and 33's. Good to hear it's going to be rough, i'm guessing that's from the trails getting over run because there isn't as much area.

If I remember geology class correctly...N. WI, MN and MI had some of the tallest mountains the world ahs ever seen...now called the Porcupine Mountains...glaciers that helped carve out the great lakes...some of the biggest freshwater bodies in the world also helped knock down those Porcupines...

Currenlty have part of the Canadian Shied showing through there...some of the oldest rock in the world...

If I remember correctly...
