No parking lights after paint work?

So I did some painting and removed the rear tailights. After reinstall I have no parking lights. My fuse for the parking lights blew and so did the replacement. The brake lights work and so do the turn signals and head lights. Currently I have the fuse removed with no parking lights or instrument cluster lights. I don't think it is a grounding problem because my brake lights and turn signals lights work but I may be wrong. I had some corrosion on the tailights that was grinded off and I have some new SS bolts w/ star washers and regular washers installed. I did alot of work removing herculiner on the inside of the tub and then doing some body paint also. I had no problems previously before the body work and am looking for beginning direction. So, I have no parking or side marker lights, or reverse lights but do have headlights, brake lights and turn signals. Suggestions needed.

Re: No parking lights after paint work?

Could my headlight switch be bad? My headlights work and turn signals etc... plus interior lights but no parking lights?

Re: No parking lights after paint work?

my guess is a bad wire somwhere, if the fuse is blowin on every attemp, you most likely have a bare wire groundin out somwhere, i'd start at the scene of the work and follow back to the source

edit:

oh--oh....or ya mighta had a brain fart on the rewire(unless they are plugs), check your connections as well

Re: No parking lights after paint work?

After pulling my rear harness and checking it I found the culprit. Not in the harness but instead inside the rear tai light behind the little flange. At least now I know my rear harness is in pristine shape.

So what was wrong inside the rear tai light behind the little flange? Bad ground?
