O/T Trailer Hub Question

I am finally spending some time restoring my Grandpa's utility trailer. My question is, if I take the hubs off of the axle to repaint them, do I have to reassemble them on the same sides they came off? On other words, if I reinstall the left hub on the right side is that bad? What about the bearings? Should I reinstall them in the same hub they came out of? Thanks. When I get some pix I will post them, if anyone cares. It is a neat little trailer that was probably made in the 1940's.

Re: O/T Trailer Hub Question

The only thing that should matter is that you keep the bearing races, rolling elements and cones together. Hubs don't care which way they turn. Brakes will be specific to their side.
