NP-231 T-case

I'm planning on swapping out an NP-207 in my 87 YJ this weekend and I've picked up an NP-231 to replace it with. The input shaft has a 21 spline count so I don't anticipate any issues with that, but I noticed something on the NP-231 that I have a question on while I was draining the oil. One of the mounting holes that doesn't have a stud installed in it. It has something flush in the hole, there is something in the hole but it isn't a broken off stud. It kind of looks like some kind of plastic insert, or at least part of one. There does appear to be threads in the hole, and I wanted to know if anyone knows what the thing is. The diagram in my repair manual shows 6 studs, but this is the 7th hole, (which isn't shown), on the diagram.
I'm just trying to head off any trips to the auto part store, (covered with grease), to buy some part in the middle of the job like almost every time that I do something like this. Any advice?

Re: NP-231 T-case

I don't know about all of the 231's, but mine is the same way. In my case there was is room for a nut to go on the stud so the hole was plugged.
