CJ with YJ flares

Hi

I gave a feeble attempt at a search to find some pictures of CJ's with YJ fender flares...particularily rear yj flares.

Would someone be able to help my out by posting some or linking a thread with some in for me please?

Thank you,
Patrick

Re: CJ with YJ flares

I have TJ flares in the back with stock CJ flares up front on my 84. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture that shows the front and back in together, in a good view. For reference, the jeep has 33" tsls with RE 4.5" lift and daystar 1" body mount. -- Mike

Re: CJ with YJ flares

I think a YJ rear flare will give you a little more room than the CJ rear flare, if that's the style you prefer. But, yeah, I went TJ flares. That must make me one of the cool YJ guys that lomod was talking about.

I don't think standard TJ flares stick out any more than a CJ or YJ flare, they just have a different shape that may make it look that way. I read somewhere that Sahara TJ flares are 1" wider.

Here's an old shot.

Re: CJ with YJ flares

Sahara and Rubicon flares are wider, but regular run of the mill TJ flares are not. Really, YJ flares don't give you much more room that CJ in stock form. It is just the way they are formed, you can bend them a little bit and they don't buckle so you can gain some room. Just go TJ and be done.
