Gas Prices in your town.

Just getting curious about how much gas is everwhere else. I've heard that gas is cheaper in other states and I wonder why if the production cost and shipping cost is about the same then why is it cheaper elswhere? taxes maybe? Around here the cheapest I have seen regular gas is about 2.59 plus is about 2.69-2.79 and premium can be a minimum of 2.79-2.99 a gallon. how much is it by you? I live in northport ny.

Re: Gas Prices in your town.

I just made a trip in California, Fresno to Redding
$2.15 seemed to be the low at the cut rate stations for 87 octane, $2.47 for diesel

Re: Gas Prices in your town.

In the St. Louis area it's usually, but not always, ten to fifteen cents cheaper on the Missouri side. The common assumption is that Illinois has higher taxes, but it's not easy to find out what the real deal is.

Thursday it was $2.259 at most places on either side, but Costco on the Missouri side had it for $2.059. Put almost 30 gallons in the van.

The market here has been quite volatile for a year or more now. It's not unusual to see prices changing up by twenty to fifty cents in one step. They'll stay there for several days and then come back down a nickel at a time over several more days.

Re: Gas Prices in your town.

$1.89 at Costco when I filled up on Wednesday, I'm just north of Salt Lake City. That was for the cheap stuff.
