OT/ Snake in the Toilet

ok.... now that I got your attention, I can Clarify.... Ran a Toilet Snake in the Toilet to clear it out. Well Toilet flushes great, but there's another issue. The Marks it left in the toilet. I'm not so concerned about the marks aas I am about the issue it's creating with my 3 y/o. She saw the marks and asked what they were. My quick an dun thought reply was.. " Oh it's just marks left by the toilet snake"

As soon as it came out of my mouth I knew I had done it. Now she WILL NOT go near the toilet. Which causes an issue in a One Bathroom house. I tried picking her up and putting her on the toilet and just ended up with her kicking and screamin bloody murder until she ended up with her feet in the toilet. I tried everything from sticking my hand in the toilet to show her it was alrigth, to scrubbing th ecrap out of it with a brilo pad to clean them off.

Anyone know how to clean the marks out? it's the metal touching Ceramic Grey marks that are left on it.

thanks

Re: OT/ Snake in the Toilet

The marks are steel that rubbed off the snake onto the porcelain. I think muriatic acid will attack the steel, but won't hurt the bowl. I use it to clean out the biffy in the shop when it gets REAL ripe.

Just be real careful with it: rubber gloves, full eye protection, good ventilation

Re: OT/ Snake in the Toilet

toilet psychology 101. The thought of a snake in the toilet is terrifying to a 3 year old. Even if you remove the marks in the toilet the thought is still there. Me thinks you need to remove the marks on your daughter not the toilet My mother and sister are head shrinkers I'll ask what they would do if you want hehe

Not likely at Lowes or HD. Look up a brick store (Triangle brick) they will have it. If you can't get any, or have to buy a gallon of it (you only need about 4 table spoons to do your toilet. Let me know. I have some.

That is no joke! Brent, you know I'm not much for safety wear on the job, but when you mess with this stuff WEAR GLOVES AND GLASSES!!

Look for it near the pressure washers in Low's. Or the brickyards, like Galen said. But I think ASTM stopped approving muratic acid for brick wash a few years ago...

Re: OT/ Snake in the Toilet

Fix your daughter... it may be easier. Show her the snake, and how it works. Let her make a couple of marks in the toilet. Kids are smart and catch on pretty quickly.

Also CLR and ZAP work to remove the stains, as does Comet and elbow grease. Husky 430 Creme Cleanser works pretty well, too.
