SYE Yoke seal

i installed my AA Sye a few weeks ago and the process went smoothly but today i was reading a write up of an sye installation and i think i may have put the yoke seal on the output shaft on incorrecly or used the wrong size that came with the kit. im not noticing any leaks and i cant even figure out what the seals are for? should i remoive the shaft to check or just forget it? no leaking as far as i can tell by the way.

Re: SYE Yoke seal

Is your transfer case Full of fluid?
If it is, and it is not leaking. I would let it be, and just keep a good eye on it for the next week or so.

Re: SYE Yoke seal

If I recall correctly, I didn't have to install the seal on my AA SYE kit. It was already installed in the new tail part.

????

Re: SYE Yoke seal

the seal isnt in the tail houseing. it is just a weird gear shaped rubber washer that goes on the output shaft and the yoke slips over it. thats why i didnt think it really sealed anything.
